This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

To achieve this qualification, students must have completed at least 120 hours of unpaid work (vocational placement) as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

Important – Pre-Enrolment Information:

Prior to enrolment, it is a mandatory requirement for students to complete the Student Pre-Enrolment Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Form.  After receiving and reviewing the form a consultation with our Enrolments Team, Sales Manager or Sales Agent will be scheduled where you will be provided with all the relevant course information to help guide you into making a formal decision.

Assessment:

The assessment of each unit of competency will take place during the course. Assessments will take the form of assessment / activities, assignment and / or simulated activities in a simulated environment.

  • Formative Assessment- Learner Activities (Including written questions, role plays)
  • Summative Assessment- Skills, Knowledge & Performance Activities (Observation activities in simulated environment, presentations, written questions)
  • Workplace assessment tasks required to be completed during 120 hours of work placement and covered in log book

Placement Fees
Before commencing placement within Diana School of Community Services and Fauchard School of Dental Sciences, students will be required to obtain mandatory documents at their own expense.
Students will be notified via email on when to obtain these documents. More information on these mandatory required documents can be identified on each individual course page on our website. Dental students are required to pay an additional fee for placement.
OSHC Fees
International students must have adequate health insurance while in Australia. It is a condition of your visa that you have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSCH) for the full duration of your student visa. Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is insurance to assist international students meet the costs of medical and hospital care. You can organise your own OSHC or we can assist you, as AIBT/ AIBT-I has an agreement with Bupa, one of Australia’s major health insurance providers. Under 18’S Fees
We are partnered with Australian Homestay Network (AHN) – Australia’s Largest Homestay provider. The homestay fee includes 3 meals and all amenities and may cost up to $350/week. Materials Fee
Materials fee covers the cost of goods, materials and/or services provided by AIBT / AIBT-I to be used by students in the course of training. Examples are trade tools, class materials, safety wear, uniforms, stationery and excursions. Please refer to Materials Fee for this qualification below.

Academic requirement:
Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or Australian equivalent is mandatory.
English requirement:

A minimum of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent is required.

This is a generic entry requirement. For more specific indicators, please refer to your Sales Manager. Please note if you hold a passport from any sub continent country, a minimum IELTS of 6 is required.

International Students who do not meet the English language requirements for this course may undertake English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) according to the English Learning Matrix.

The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.

Unit HLTWHS001 – Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

Specific licensing requirements, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and/or relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority.

Vocational placement is an essential component of this qualification. Vocational placement consolidates the students’ knowledge within the real health environment, applying theory to practice.

Students will be required to undertake 120 vocational placement hours.

AIBT organises student placement. Students will be required to complete given logbook and workplace diary during their placement hours.

All students must be willing to undertake placement in aged care facility during the program. Students are required to organise their own travel to and from these facilities and may be required to undertake placement in regional areas.

Prior to attending vocational placement, students must demonstrate satisfactory course progression.

Before commencing vocational placement:

Students will be required to complete HLTAID004– Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting. This unit is a core unit within this qualification and will need to be completed prior to placement.

Completing all the units of competency within this qualification will lead to the issuance of a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113) including a transcript of all completed units. Students that successfully complete individual units of competency, but not the whole qualification, will be eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment detailing the completed units.
