In order for students to be able to work as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, they must complete an accredited program with Australian Nursing & Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC).
Our Diploma of Nursing qualification is not accredited with the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) and is currently only accredited with the Australian Skill Quality Authority (ASQA). Therefore students who complete this qualification will not be able to work as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (EEN) in Australia.
Students completing this course may be able to work as Assistant Nurse as the discretion of their employer. For more information see https://www.anmac.org.au/.
Clinical placement is an essential component of this qualification. Clinical placement consolidates the students’ knowledge within the real health environment, applying theory to practice.
Students will be required to undertake 400 clinical placement hours.
AIBT organises student placement.
Prior to attending clinical placement, students must demonstrate satisfactory course progression.
All students must be willing to undertake clinical placement in a health care facility during the program. Students are required to organise their own travel to and from these facilities and may be required to undertake placement in regional areas.
Before commencing clinical placement, students must meet the following mandatory requirements at their own expense. Students will be notified via email on when to obtain these documents:
- Have current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Complete immunisation as per NSW and QLD health department requirements, further information on health screenings can be found here:
- NSW: https://www1.health.nsw.gov.au/pds/Pages/doc.aspx?dn=PD2018_009
