About this course

SIT50422 – Diploma of Hospitality Management reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector as a departmental or small business manager. The diversity of employers includes restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multiskilling and for acquiring targeted skills in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming.

Entry Requirements

Prior to enrolment
Academic requirement:
Overseas and domestic (normal study)
Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent.
Domestic RPL candidates:
Prior to commencing the RPL process, domestic RPL candidates are required to have relevant work experiences and/or any other evidence to match with the training package requirements.
English requirement:

A minimum of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent is required.

International Students who do not meet the English language requirements for this course may undertake English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) according to the English Learning Matrix.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) (after enrolment but prior to commencement of the course)
All students except domestic RPL candidates are required to undertake an LLN test prior to the commencement of their course. LLN tests are designed by the college. The tests are categorised based on the students’ qualifications. They will be used as a tool to assist college personnel in identifying students who may require support in language and/or numeracy. LLN Tests are designed in accordance with the Australian Core Skills Framework as a guideline.
After enrolment but prior to commencement of the course

HANDLING/ ADMINISTRATION FEES (NON-REFUNDABLE)

$200 – (Handling Fee)
$900 – (Administration Fee for Visa Assessment for students with a dependent/family)

PLACEMENT FEE

$500 – for each qualification in Ageing Support and Community Services, unless otherwise stated.

Before commencing placement within Diana School of Community Services, students will be required to obtain mandatory documents at their own expense. Students will be notified via email on when to obtain these documents. OSHC FEE

International students must have adequate health insurance while in Australia.

It is a condition of your visa that you have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the full duration of your student visa. OSHC is insurance to assist international students to meet the costs of medical and hospital care.

UNDER 18’S FEE

We are partnered with Australian Homestay Network (AHN) – Australia’s Largest Homestay provider.
