This qualification reflects the role of an Enrolled Nurse with advanced skills who work in a specialised area of nursing practice in Aged Care and Individual Support. At this level, enrolled nurses integrate and adapt specialised, technical and theoretical knowledge to address a diverse range of clinical situations and challenges in their area of specialisation. They contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical practice using research and participation in broader organisational quality processes. Enrolled nurses retain responsibility for their own actions while remaining accountable to the Registered Nurse/Midwife for all delegated functions.
Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who are currently working in Australia as an Enrolled Nurse and hold current registration as an Enrolled Nurse without notation with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au
To achieve this qualification, students must have completed at least 80 hours of unpaid work (clinical placement) as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

AIBT-I – Monthly Intakes
Total Materials Fee – $500
Materials fee covers the cost of goods, materials and / or services provided by AIBT / AIBT-I to be used by students in the course of training.
The Materials Fees in this qualification include:
- Class materials
- Nursing Consumables (Gloves, Bandages, Syringes etc.)

Successful completion of Australian Year 12 / Diploma or Australian equivalent is mandatory.
Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who are currently working in Australia as an enrolled nurse and hold current registration as an enrolled nurse without notation with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au.
English requirements as per ANMAC.
A minimum of IELTS 7.0 each band or equivalent is required.
International Students who do not meet the English language requirements for this course may undertake English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) according to the English Learning Matrix.
No pre-requisites, only entry requirements
Endorsed Enrolled Nurses must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and meet the NMBA’s registration standards, in order to practice in Australia
This qualification applies to enrolled nurses, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, seeking specialisation in enrolled nurse work that is carried out in consultation and collaboration with registered nurses and under direct or indirect supervisory arrangements aligned to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia regulatory authority legislative requirements.

The scope of practice for this job role is determined by state and territory legislative requirements and the policies and procedures of the employing organisation. Users of this qualification must refer to those instruments in the development of training and assessment strategies.
Clinical placement is an essential component of this qualification. Clinical placement consolidates the students’ knowledge within the real health environment, applying theory to practice. Students will be required to undertake 80 unpaid clinical placement hours.
AIBT organises student placement. Students will be required to complete given logbook and workplace diary during their placement hours.
Prior to attending clinical placement, students must demonstrate satisfactory course progression.
All students must be willing to undertake clinical placement in a health care facility during the program. Students are required to organise their own travel to and from these facilities and may be required to undertake placement in regional areas.
Before commencing clinical placement:
- Students will be required to complete HLTSAID003 – Provide first aid. AIBT-I will provide training of this unit at no additional cost to students and on completion will issue students with a Statement of Attainment for HLTSAID003 – Provide first aid, prior to clinical placement
- Students must meet the following mandatory requirements at their own expense. Students will be notified via email on when to obtain these documents:
- Have current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Complete immunisation as per NSW and QLD health department requirements, further information on health screenings can be found here:
– At their own expense, 30 days before placement, provide an Australian Federal Police Certificate indicating that the student has passed the Australian Federal Police (National) Check:
Completing all the units of competency within this qualification will lead to the issuance of an Advanced Diploma of Nursing (HLT64115) including a transcript of all completed units. Students that successfully complete individual units of competency, but not the whole qualification, will be eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment detailing the completed units.
