This qualification provides competencies to select, install, set up, test, commission, fault find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment with options, typically in Explosion protection; Electrical machines; Electrical inspection; Safety auditing; Contracting; Lifts; Energy supply/distribution.  This qualification provides competencies to design and validate/evaluate electrical equipment and systems, manage risk, estimate and manage projects and provide technical advice/sales.

It develops competencies in the ethical and responsible application of mathematics, science, engineering techniques, Standards and Codes of Practice, engineering design practices, supervision and management of physical, human and financial resources in engineering.

Academic requirement:
Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or Australian equivalent is mandatory
English requirement:

A minimum of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent is required.

This is a generic entry requirement. For more specific indicators, please refer to your Sales Manager. Please note if you hold a passport from any sub continent country, a minimum IELTS of 6 is required.

International Students who do not meet the English language requirements for this course may undertake English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) according to the English Learning Matrix.

Completing all the units of competency within this qualification will lead to the issuance of a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30811), Certificate IV in Electrotechnology – Systems Electrician (UEE40611) and Advanced Diploma of Electrical – Engineering (UEE62211) including a transcript of all completed units. Students that successfully complete individual units of competency, but not the whole qualification, will be eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment detailing the completed units.
