This qualification reflects the role of individuals who work as master diagnostic technicians the automotive service and repair industry; servicing, diagnosing and repairing vehicle electrical systems and components. A range of advanced electrical diagnostic skills and knowledge is necessary, and leadership and supervision of others would be expected.

Prior to enrolment, it is a mandatory requirement for students to complete the Student Pre-Enrolment Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Form.  After receiving and reviewing the form a consultation with our Enrolments Team, Sales Manager or Sales Agent will be scheduled where you will be provided with all the relevant course information to help guide you into making a formal decision.

Entry requirement:

Academic requirement:
Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or Australian equivalent and
AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency.
English requirement:

A minimum of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent is required.

This is a generic entry requirement. For more specific indicators, please refer to your Sales Manager. Please note if you hold a passport from any sub continent country, a minimum IELTS of 6 is required.

International Students who do not meet the English language requirements for this course may undertake English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) according to the English Learning Matrix.

There are no pre-requisites required for this qualification. 

$200 – (Handling Fee)
$900 – (Administration Fee for Visa Assessment for students with a dependent/family)

Before commencing placement within Diana School of Community Services, students will be required to obtain mandatory documents at their own expense. Students will be notified via email on when to obtain these documents.

Simulated Work Environment

AIBT provides 460 hours per year of unpaid simulated training within our Edison Engineering workshops and Engineering Rooms.

Simulated training is not equivalent to vocational placement.

Completing all the units of competency within this qualification will lead to the issuance of a Certificate IV in Automotive Electrical Technology (AUR40620) and transcript of the academic record. Learners that successfully complete individual units of competency, but not the whole qualification, will be eligible to receive Statement of Attainment detailing the completed units.
