The installation, commissioning and de-commissioning of single head, split air conditioning and heat pumps systems to a prescribed routine where the maximum plant capacity for each system does not exceed 18 kWr.

Packaging Rules:
To achieve a Certificate II in Split Air-conditioning and Heat Pump Systems (UEE20111), a total of 12 units must be completed:
Ten core units.
Two elective.

Total Materials Fee – $500

Materials fee covers the cost of goods, materials and/or services provided by AIBT to be used by students in the course of training.

Core Subjects

Participate in development and follow a personal competency development plan
Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
Fabricate, assemble and dismantle utilities industry components
Fix and secure electrotechnology equipment
Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications
Document and apply measures to control OHS risks associated with electrotechnology work
Prepare and connect refrigerant tubing and fittings
Position, assemble and start up single head split air conditioning and water heating heat pump systems
Recover, pressure test, evacuate, charge and leak test refrigerants – split systems
Apply environmentally and sustainable procedures in the energy sector

Elective Subjects

Establish the basic operating conditions of air conditioning systems

Entry requirement:

Academic requirement:
A minimum of Year 12 or Australian equivalent is mandatory.
English requirement:

A minimum of IELTS 5.5 is required.

International Students who do not meet the English language requirements for this course may undertake English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) according to the English Learning Matrix.

Completing all the units of competency within this qualification will lead to the issuance of a Certificate II in Split Air-Condition and Heat Pump Systems (UEE20111) including a transcript of all completed units. Students that successfully complete individual units of competency, but not the whole qualification, will be eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment detailing the completed units
