Official Announcement

Dear Students and Staff,

The COVID-19 situation in Australia has escalated to a level that requires all staff and students to pay extra attention to the pandemic. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Australia has surpassed 5,000 active cases1. The pandemic is spreading and has accelerated in all states across Australia2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. The college’s staff and students should remain calm and alert but not alarmed. All students and staff should keep themselves current with the latest and most up to date COVID-19 developments and strictly follow advice from both federal and local governments.

Plan:
In order to ensure everyone’s safety, the college will still continue with the Escalation Stage Plan to minimise and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in accordance with Coronavirus (COVID-19) Plan and Procedures10. We are in a situation where the prevention of the COVID-19 can save peoples’ lives.

Work and study preparation:

Students
All students will still be requested to attend online classes unless there are special arrangements between the college and individual students, or the current COVID-19 outbreak has eased in Australia. Students will be contacted by their respective schools for the class timetables and their special arrangements.

Staff
Staff who are not required to be physically present at the college’s campuses will be requested to work from home. Staff can contact their direct supervisors/managers for work-at-home arrangements if required.

The college will provide everyone updates of future developments. In the meantime, we would like you to regularly check our AIBTGlobal Coronavirus Update (COVID-19) web page at https://aibtglobal.edu.au/coronavirus/ for more information.

We ask all students to continue to follow good health and hygiene practices to reduce the risk of contracting and spreading COVID-19 and keep up to date with the latest information from the Department of Health website at https://www.health.gov.au/.

Please remember to11:
• keep 1.5 metres away from others wherever possible
• avoid physical greetings such as handshaking, hugs and kisses
• use tap and go instead of cash where possible
• practise extra care if you are using public transport
• avoid crowds – if you see a crowded space do not enter
• avoid large public gatherings
• practise good hygiene
• stay at home if you have any cold or flu symptoms. Seek medical advice and get tested for COVID-19

We wish you all the best in health and studies.

Best regards,
Charles
